The CS2 IEM Katowice recently concluded with an emerging superstar, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, grabbing the limelight. The 17-year-old Russian, a key player for Team Spirit, received widespread attention in the tournament. His leadership played a pivotal role in securing the team’s first trophy ever, overpowering Atlanta FaZe in the process and losing only one map throughout their championship journey.

Donk’s Professional Counter-Strike Journey So Far
While “donk” is just 17, his professional career is already noteworthy. He started as a CSGO pro player and shifted to CS2 as a part of the Spirit Academy’s squad.
During his debut match in 2021, at a tender age of 14 years, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets demonstrated his abilities as a Russian rifler. The Spirit Academy emerged winners in this match; he concluded the second map with an impressive 18-15 K-D.
Since his debut, he has remained with the same team. In 2023, he got promoted to the main squad and has ever since been showcasing remarkable performances comparable to the best players in the league.
He was awarded the HLTV MVP in the two latest tournaments he participated in, BetBoom Dacha and IEM Katowice 2024. Notably, in the former event, he was the second youngest player to win this award.
However, his aggressive gameplay does not come without criticism. Fellow players have criticized his controversial behavior on the field. “Donk” has made a name among his peers for taunting and yelling during games. To the fans, though, his actions seem to enhance entertainment.
