They have revealed their plan to dissolve their Valorant division, following their unsatisfactory performance which failed to land them in the esteemed Americas Ascension event. The Valorant team’s journey reached its end in early June when they suffered defeats against Moist Moguls and FaZe in the NA Challengers Split 2 Playoffs. This was closely followed by the departure of Jacob ‘Daeda’ Hale, head coach, and Andrey ‘Engh’ Sholokhov, assistant coach, leaving the team’s future hanging in the balance for several weeks.
Nevertheless, TSM have announced plans to make a comeback to the Valorant arena in 2024, with the launch of the fresh Ascension season. Their choice to dismantle the team in the middle of the year speaks volumes about the trials being faced by second-tier Valorant squads currently.
The absence of details regarding the last quarter’s third-party tournaments of the year has raised significant apprehension among both players and organizations. Corey ‘corey’ Nigra, an ex-TSM player, expressed his reservations, stating that a six-month hiatus is too extensive for organizations to keep their dedication alive.
This development closely follows G2’s choice to ax their Challengers League team, choosing to retain only Shahzeb ‘ShahZaM’ Khan as a content provider. MAD Lions and Disguised, among other organizations, have also discontinued with their groups, highlighting the unstable climate of the second-tier Valorant circuit.
Johann ‘seven’ Hernandez, Corey ‘corey’ Nigra, Anthony ‘gMd’ Guimond, Nicholas ‘NaturE’ Garrison, and Eric ‘Kanpeki’ Xu were the members included in the now-disbanded TSM Valorant team.
