The top 12 Gran Turismo players have been confirmed for the grand final race at the inaugural Olympic Esports Finals 2023 from in Singapore after the qualifying session.

That qualifying session featured over 30 players who came through Olympic Esports Series qualifiers as well as a number of wildcard selections.

Eleven qualifiers, plus one wildcard player from hosts Singapore, will now race in the grand final at the Suntec Conference and Exhibition Centre on 25 June to be crowned Olympic Esports Finals winner.

Gran Turismo was put forward by the International Automobile Federation to represent motorsport in the Olympic Esports Series 2023.

The 12 who have qualified for the grand final race are:

  • Kylian Drumont from France
  • Adriano Carrazza from Brazil
  • José Serrano from Spain
  • Giorgio Mangano from Italy
  • Kaj de Bruin from Netherlands
  • William Murdoch from Great Britain
  • Karl Etyemezian from Lebanon
  • Benjámin Hencsei from Hungary
  • Goto Yusuke from Japan
  • Angel Inostroza from Chile
  • Iñigo Anton from Philippines
  • Ar Muhammad Aleef from Singapore

Olympic Esports Finals 2023: Gran Turismo 7 competition format

The players who made it to Singapore took part in a qualifying session, where each player had one Time Attack flying lap to set a qualifying time. The fastest 11, plus the Singapore wildcard, moved on to the Grand Final, where they will take part in a 35-lap race to determine the winner.

Alongside Gran Turismo 7, nine other games are part of the Olympic Esports Series and Olympic Esports Finals. They are: Tic Tac Bow (archery), WBSC eBaseball: POWER PROS (baseball), Chess.com (chess), Zwift (cycling), Just Dance (dance), Virtual Regatta (sailing), Fortnite (shooting), Virtual Taekwondo (taekwondo), and Tennis Clash (tennis).
