UNION, N.J. (12/9/22) – The Kean University eSports team competed in multiple events this past week.
The following teams are still alive in the ECAC Playoffs: Kean NBA2K23 (NBA 2K23) and Kean University (Overwatch 2).
In Super Smash Bros action, Kean (Solian McClard, Eder Gonzalez and Stephen Schulte) earned a first round bye and defeated Stockton University, 2-1 in the second round. The Cougars were eliminated by Northwood University in the third round.
In FIFA 23 action, the Cougars (Joe Paul Mong’are) earned a first round bye and defeated Augustana College, 2-1 in the second round. The Cougars were eliminated by Concord University in the third round.
In NBA2K 23 action, Kean (Zaree Neal) has reached the semifinals after defeating Keuka College in the second round, 2-1 and Albion College (Foul Meee) in the third round, 2-1. The Cougars will face Albion College (Logey Bear) in the semis on Sunday.
In Overwatch 2 action, Kean (Jhordy Jaramillo, Chelsea Pelley, Frankie Aguirre, Jerry Howard and Sahib Rainey) also reached the semifinals after defeating Fisher College JV (3-0) in the second round, Marist College (3-0) in the third round and Bethel University (3-2) in the fourth round. The Cougars will face top seed Fisher College Varsity on Saturday in the semis.
In League of Legends action, Kean (Christopher Rincon, Haoyan Gu, Jackson Liu, Milton Santacruz and Vincent Doda) defeated Case Western Reserve University (2-1), in a first round matchup, before being eliminated by top seed Ohio Northern University in the second round (2-0).
