Cesafi Esports: UCLM is on a roll

In the Cesafi Esports League’s Valorant tournament that happened at TNC Cebu on Sunday, October 15, 2023, the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu Mandaue (UCLM) Webmasters demonstrated their prowess.

On that day, the Webmasters achieved a clean sweep in their trio of scheduled games against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers, University of the Philippines (UP)-Cebu Fighting Maroons and the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.

For starters, the Webmasters crushed the Panthers with a score of 13-9, relying on the strong showing of Jay “Bokki” Labajo who scored 22 kills and 14 assists. 

They continued their winning streak by defeating UP-Cebu, 13-1, under the leadership of Samuel Gabriel “Shmoke” Pino who recorded 22 kills and three assists. 

The Webmasters signed off from the Cesafi Esports venue with a narrow win over the Jaguars, 13-10, with Pino replicating his second-game performance tallying 22 kills and four assists.

Even though they were defeated by UCLM, the Jaguars managed to clinch two victories against UP Cebu, 13-3, and USP-F, 13-5. 

In defeating UP Cebu, John Michael “Kel” Canoy led the USJ-R with 25 kills and five assists, while Nikko “Baby” Diwa led the victory against USPF with 18 kills and four assists. 

USPF ended the day on a high by defeating UP Cebu, 13-5, thanks to Shaun Matthew “blurred” Maglasang’s brilliant performance of 26 kills and seven assists.
