Bizarre Dota 2 bug delays OG, Liquid T11 group stage game

OG found themselves a player behind in a pivotal TI11 game against regional rivals Team Liquid.

On the third day of the group stage, Mikhail “Misha” Agatov disconnected in the first game of the series. What should be a routine DC and reconnect, however, turned awry.

The position 5 support player couldn’t reconnect to the game, which caused even more confusion. In the midst of both teams discussing the situation, Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev, and Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov said they were willing to finish the game without Misha.

However, in a display of sportsmanship, Team Liquid asked OG to wait for Valve to fix the issue before continuing the game.

After taking a 24-7 kill lead and amassing a 14,000 gold lead advantage, OG were in good position to win their first game against Team Liquid.

At the 25-minute mark of the game, Misha’s support Enchantress disconnected from the game and couldn’t come back. According to Tommy “Taiga” Le, two things could have happened.

Either Misha’s game was bugged and there was no reconnect button. Or, Misha clicked the reconnect button, but it immediately “gave him an abandon.”

At the time of writing, OG and Team Liquid are tied for fourth place in Group A with both teams having a 7-5 record. A win could decide which one of them will advance to the upper bracket or continue their run in the lower bracket during the playoffs.

Valve is currently looking to rectify the situation so that both teams can continue their game.

Fans can watch the match on PGL’s main Dota 2 Twitch channel or on their official YouTube broadcast.
