Motorsport Australia has selected two representatives to compete in the prestigious 2022 Asia Pacific MSS AC Endurance Championship, which begins later this month.

Hosted by Motor Sports Singapore, Ryan Hoolihan and Daniel Hunter have been chosen to represent Australia in the championship run on the popular PC game, Assetto Corsa.

Both drivers were part of September’s intense qualifying program that ultimately saw Philippa Boquida chosen as Team Australia’s representative for the FIA Motorsport Games.

While they missed out on that selection, both drivers produced impressive performances during the event to earn a spot in the regional competition – Hoolihan having been Boquida’s biggest challenger during qualifying to finish second overall, while Hunter was highly consistent throughout to finish fifth.

The duo now turns their attention to the three-round Asia Pacific series, which will see them compete at virtual versions of three international circuits over the next three months.

With all competitors to be behind the wheel of a Corvette C7R GTE, the championship begins at Singapore’s famous Marina Bay Circuit this weekend, before racing at the Red Bull Ring next month.

The last round will then take place in December at Japan’s famous Fuji International Speedway.

The Asia Pacific MSS AC Endurance Championship begins with the opening round at the Marina Bay Circuit on 9 October.

Calendar

Round 1: Marina Bay Circuit – 9 October
Round 2: Red Bull Ring – 13 November
Round 3: Fuji International Speedway – 11 December
