The showdown between G2 Esports and DarkZero Esports had all eyes on Troy “Canadian” Jaroslawski and Karl “Alem4o” Zarth.

Last year, the representative from G2 Esports triumphed in Canada as the Brazilian clinched the victory and held the hammer aloft in Montreal. Fast forward to the present, the Brazilian stood triumphant once more, sending the defeated purple roster back to the US, all the while setting sights on clinching the hammer in front of his home support.

“The possibility of back-to-back SI Championships here in Brazil is thrilling and everyone should be pumped for that,” declared the Brazilian in the post-match interview following their victory over DarkZero Esports.

Despite wrapping up a 2-0 win, the reigning SI 2023 champions had a sluggish start to the series. In the ninth round of Skyscraper, G2 Esports trailed 3-5 against the North American opponents.

“Ramalho’s timely timeout made a tremendous difference. He jogged our memories on DZ’s gameplay strategy enabling us to select our battles wisely. They struggled in executing their plans in each late round.” the Brazilian divulged.

Post the timeout from Ramalho, G2 Esports dominated. They targeted DarkZero’s biggest vulnerability, which as per the Brazilian was their performance in the last stages of the round and managed to clinch the first map.

As they moved onto the second map of the series, the SI 2023 champions confessed that they anticipated DarkZero Esports choosing Bank. This prediction made it easier for the European team.

Furthermore, the SI Mexico Major champion lauded Brazilian fans for backing G2 Esports in their match against DarkZero Esports. Despite expecting this support, he is aware that the ceasefire won’t last long.

“The warmth from the crowd here in Brazil is overwhelming, but it remains to be seen what’s in store tomorrow,” concluded the Brazilian.
