The Esports team from India, consisting of 15 members, aims to leave a lasting impression as the sport debuts as a medal event at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023. Less than 100 days remain until the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Indian esports contingent is preparing to battle against the top teams from around the world.
India will compete in four of the seven esports events this year. These games include Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends and DOTA 2.
The Hearthstone game itself is on dismantle, but one more team of two players is going to compete. Shikhar Choudhary and Karthik Varma, the athletes who represented India in the game, won’t be competing in Asian Games as it is no longer a medal event.
Arena of Valour, PUBG Mobile, and Dream Three Kingdoms 2 are the other three titles in which India is not participating. Nevertheless, PUBG Mobile is prohibited in India and Dream Three Kingdoms 2 is not available, Arena of Valour is recently published, and the teams qualified last year.
Further, Lokesh Suji, the director of the Indian Esports Federation, stated,
“Speaking the days we once dreamt of for Indian Esports are now finally here. The range of titles at the Asian Games will not only showcase the diversity of Esports but will also display different aspects of skill, strategy, and teamwork from the athletes to offer an all-round experience for the viewers.”

League of Legends – Akshaj Shenoy (captain), Samarth Arvind Trivedi, Mihir Ranjan, Aakash Shandilya, Aditya Selvaraj, and Sanindhya Malik
Street Fighter V: Champion Edition – Mayank Prajapati and Ayan Biswas
DOTA 2 – Moin Ejaz (captain), Krish, Abhishek, Ketan, Darshan, and Shubham to make up Team Whoops
