‘You’re an arrogant f*****g p***k!’ The truth about Hearn v Haney

Eddie Hearn has revealed details of his ringside argument with ‘arrogant f*****g p***k’ Devin Haney, which was caught on camera on Saturday night.

Hearn and Haney had a good relationship when Haney was part of Matchroom, but it seems to have deteriorated recently.

The tension escalated when Haney claimed on Twitter that Hearn had denied his request for tickets to the Riyadh Season event at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.

Despite this, Haney managed to enter the venue and was met with boos when he appeared on the big screen. Later, Conor Benn shared an Instagram video showing Hearn and Haney arguing ringside.

In an exclusive interview with Boxing News, Hearn disclosed the details of their confrontation.

“It was heated,” Hearn explained. “Considering the history I have with Devin, considering everything we’ve been through, I was shocked that he would take it to social media.”

“I woke up to a message from him at 6am on fight day asking for tickets to Joshua’s fight. He had messaged me a day before with a simple ‘yo’ but I was busy and didn’t respond. When I replied on Friday night, he followed up on Saturday morning requesting tickets.”

“All of the inner ringside tickets had been allocated in advance to His Excellency and other important guests, and we had already accommodated our fighters’ requests well in advance. So, at that point, we didn’t have any tickets left. I told him that since it wasn’t solely our event, he may need to reach out to Riyadh Season for tickets. I didn’t receive a response.”

“During the show, he publicly criticized me for not getting him tickets, calling me two-faced. I responded with ‘you’re an arrogant f*****g prick.’ I approached him and asked him, ‘What are you trying to achieve?’ He replied with ‘hey hey,’ and I said ‘no, not hey hey… what’s your intention here?’”

“I told him: ‘One, you’re incredibly arrogant, two, why didn’t you ask me personally if there was any chance I could arrange something for you? Instead, you resorted to Twitter like a child.’”

“I advised him: ‘You used to be a good kid, but I’m not liking this newfound arrogance from you. Never do that again.’ He mentioned that I had made remarks about him in the media, but I explained that I was merely responding to a question.”

“I don’t manage him, so if I’m asked about Devin Haney, I will give my honest opinion. I have never disrespected him, but I made it clear that he had, so he should not disrespect me.”

“I was upset about it. I was honest with him.”
