Touch-A-Truck coming to Highlands Sports Complex | News, Sports, Jobs

TRIADELPHIA — Children from around the Ohio Valley and their families will soon be able to get an up-close experience with big trucks that provide a plethora of services to the community.

Holy Family Childcare and Development Center and the City of Wheeling are inviting children and their families to the annual Touch-A-Truck from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 5 at The Highlands Sports Complex parking lot.

Touch-A-Truck is an interactive event that allows children to see, touch and safely explore their favorite vehicles and meet the personnel who protect, serve and build our community. Past vehicles on display have included a police car, fire trucks, ambulance, tractor-trailer and an excavator.

“Last year was a blast. We had visitors from all over our tri-state area and can’t wait for this year’s event,” said Terra Crews, executive director of Holy Family Childcare and Development Center.

“This is a fundraiser for our center and with the amazing support of our sponsors and partners; we are able to share this fun event with our community at no cost to the families.”

The center is asking first responders, businesses and organizations to join them to display their work vehicles for children to explore or share information with visitors on the day of the event.

Sponsors for the event include Panhandle Restoration & Cleaning, A-1 Braden’s Towing, Rohrig Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Fitzsimmons Law Firm, Dirty Paws, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, Acadiana Properties and Liberty Distributors.
