Talon Esports has revealed its Valorant roster for the Pacific league in 2023, and it’s got more than a few familiar faces.
The all-Thai roster is headlined by Overwatch star Patiphan “Patiphan” Chaiwong, who is returning to Valorant after a stint with the Overwatch League team Los Angeles Gladiators. The 19-year-old made waves at Valorant Champions 2021 as one of the rising stars in the game, before retiring to play Overwatch.
He reunites with former teammates Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut, Panyawat “sushiboys” Subsiriroj, and Itthirit “foxz” Ngamsaard, the majority of the former X10 Esports roster that was regarded as one of the best in the Asia-Pacific region.
Talon Esports brings together most of the former XERXIA roster
The XERXIA trio were absent from The Esports Club Challenger Series 9 tournament.
According to Talon CEO Sean Zhang, the organization was banking on a more experienced group of players who have existing chemistry working together.
The new Talon roster is exactly that team. Crws, Sushiboys, and foxz have been playing together since December 2020, eventually going on to become a top two team in the region.
However, Talon is also taking a chance on untested talent. Apiwat “garnetS” Apiraksukuma joins from X10 Esports, while Jittana “JitBoyS” Nokngam last played for FW Esports.

All eyes will still be on young prodigy Patiphan. His abrupt departure after Valorant Champions last year came just as he was coming into his own as a player, and fans will be hoping he will be the spark the Thai roster needs to take games off teams like Paper Rex and DRX.
The team will make their international debut in February at the 30-team kickoff tournament in São Paulo, Brazil.
