Skyesports Grand Slam 2024: Pune to host international esports tournament featuring Counter-Strike 2

The Indian esports tournament organizer, Skyesports, is preparing for the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024. The Playoffs are set to be held in Pune from March 14 to 16. This international Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament will have four teams from Russia, Indonesia, India, and Australia compete for the title and a $50,000 prize pool.

The 6th India Gaming Show 2024, where the event takes place, is an international gaming, animation and infotainment event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Skyesports Grand Slam acts as a global stage showcasing the rising sector of esports and competitive gaming talent.

Displaying the collaboration between India and Indonesia in promoting their gaming industries, an esports diplomatic showmatch is also scheduled between these two nations, marking their 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The showmatch is sponsored by the Indonesian Embassy of New Delhi, where the teams from both nations will compete with the goal to win.

The ‘Luna’ Showmatch, an all-female esports tournament, will be hosted by the Skyesports Grand Slam. It will feature ten of India’s top female gamers going head-to-head in Counter-Strike 2. This event aims to advocate for inclusivity within the gaming sector and to inspire women eager to follow a career course in esports.

The main show will witness teams from around the world, including Aurora Gaming from Russia, Garuda Wisnu Voyage from Indonesia, India’s Gods Reign, and Bad News Kangaroo from Australia. These teams will face off in a double-elimination bracket format competition, aiming to win the tournament and secure a share of the prize money.
