At present, there are 10 distinct Infamy Ranks within Skull and Bones. Whether Ubisoft decides to add additional ranks during the game’s life cycle remains to be seen. Thus, let’s look at the existing 10 ranks, starting from the highest to the lowest:
- Outcast
- Scoundrel
- Rover
- Freebooter
- Buccanneer
- Brigand
- Marauder
- Corsair
- Cutthroat
- Kingpin
With each new Infamy Rank achieved, a chest arrives in your mailbox. These chests contain rewards corresponding to your current rank. The ultimate goal is to rise from a marooned sailor to a Kingpin overseeing transactions across Africa’s coasts to the East Indies.
The Mechanism of Infamy in Skull and Bones

Infamy Rank is derived from your collection of Infamy Points, gained through numerous activities, the riskier ones rewarding more points. Activities such as attacking merchant vessels or running errands for traders yield fewer points.
As you ascend the Infamy Ranks in Skull and Bones, the requirement for points for the next rank increases. You can view these points as experience points obtained in other games. Higher ranks grant increased access to better resources.

As your infamy grows, merchants, traders, and other characters will become more aware of your adventures and be more willing to extend their offerings to you. This might lead to access to larger ships, superior weapons, and an array of outfits for your pirate.
Progression in in-game seasons allows you to aim at topping the leaderboard. Once you attain the Kingpin Infamy Rank in Skull and Bones, keep accruing Infamy Points to potentially claim the top position.
