Revenant Esports, a renowned esports organization, recently expanded its Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports team. Ashutosh ‘Punkk’ Singh, a 21-year-old gamer from Chirawa, Rajasthan, is the latest addition to the lineup as part of preparations for the upcoming BGMI India Series (BGIS), Krafton’s mammoth INR 2,00,00,000 prize pool esports tournament.

Punkk will reconnect with former teammates Sensei and Fierce as part of Revenant. With two years of experience playing together from 2020 to 2022, he carries a familiarity with their playstyle and the added experience from his tenure with Reckoning Esports and Velocity Gaming.

Given his longstanding collaboration with Sensei, who serves as the team’s IGL, Punkk is expected to blend seamlessly into the Revenant setup ahead of The Grind phase of the BGMI India Series.

As a former IGL, he is well positioned to provide key in-game support to Sensei. His aggression and signature gunshot, for which he is well-known, will increase their likelihood of securing important finishes under the new BGMI Esports points system.

Punk expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Reuniting with my old friends Sensei and Fierce as part of Revenant Esports thrills me a great deal. Our deep mutual understanding of our individual gaming styles, combined with our collective experience and the addition of Aquanox and Blaze, should help us make a significant impact on the tournament.”

Revenant Esports’ BGMI Esports roster is a force to be reckoned with in India. The team has competed successfully in the past, coming in second at the Skyesports Championship 5.0 and securing 5th place at the India-Korea Invitational in Delhi. However, the team is yet to claim a trophy, a streak they hope to end with the inclusion of Punkk.

The revised roster for the BGIS is as follows:

  • Deepak “Sensei” Negi
  • Punkk
  • Harsh “Aquanox” Rao
  • Hamze “Blaze” Khozema Hyderabadwala
  • Ritesh “Fierce” Nawandar

Rohit Jagasia, Founder and CEO, Revenant Esports commented, “Bringing Punkk on board is an exciting development. His familiarity with our team structure and exceptional talent make him a key player as we prepare for the BGMI India Series.”

The Revenant Esports’ BGMI team will compete in The Grind stage of the BGIS 2024. Being one of the country’s premier esports organizations, they have been directly invited into this stage of the tournament, where they will vie for a spot in the Main Event. The Grind will take place online, with all participants competing from Revenant’s bootcamp in Mumbai, India.
