In an unexpected move, PUBG Mobile superstar Xu “Jimmy” Yin-jun has left his long-time team Nova Esports to join Wolves Esports in preparation for PEL 2024. Jimmy spent over four years with Nova Esports, during which he bagged two PUBG Mobile World Championship titles.

Jimmy’s acquisition by Wolves Esports was formalized in a deal worth approximately $309K. Originally listed for a base price of $280K, Jimmy’s move also underscores Wolves Esports’ ambition to make a mark in the world of PUBG Mobile esports following their less than stellar introduction in late 2022.
Renowned for his skills as an In-Game Leader (IGL), Jimmy has been instrumental in guiding Nova Esports to multiple championships over the last four years, including two PMGC titles in 2020 and 2021.

After a solid run at Nova Esports, Jimmy will now bring his skills to Wolves Esports. His recruitment is a significant step for the high-profile organization that hopes to claim victory at the PEL 2024 Spring Season.
Along with Jimmy, Wolves Esports has also enlisted Ren from Tianba Esports. Meanwhile, their top player, Remember, has left Wolves to join JTeam. Wolves Esports ventured into PUBG Mobile gaming with the acquisition of the SMG roster before the PMGC 2022. However, the team failed to impress, finishing 11th in the Global Championship.
In 2023, they had a disappointing run, placing 16th in the PEL Spring and eighth in the PEL Summer. The company also had a less-than-stellar performance at the Regional Clash SEA vs PEL event, ending in 16th position.
In the coming months, the PEL 2024 Spring will kick off, and Jimmy, along with the rest of China’s teams, will be aiming to dominate in international PUBG Mobile contests.
It will be interesting to see Jimmy compete against old teammates Paraboy and Order for the first time. These athletes rank among the best in global PUBG Mobile sportsmanship. Together, they bagged two consecutive Global Championships and the PEC titles for 2019 and 2020. In another twist, King and YI have also announced their departure from Nova Esports.
