Panel: Now he’s moving to lightweight, how do you see a fight between Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney unfolding?

This week’s panellists were asked to pick a winner in a potential lightweight fight between Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney

Chris Billam-Smith (European cruiserweight champion)

I’d pick Shakur to beat pretty much anyone at lightweight. He’s a phenomenal fighter and has that Terence Crawford factor of invincibility about him.

Michael Conlan (Featherweight contender)

It would be a really intriguing chess match. Devin is a huge lightweight and has shown how good he can be, plus his style is a style Shakur hasn’t faced as a pro. But, in saying that, I find it hard to pick against Shakur. He’s super talented and ultra-hard to land a clean shot on. I find it hard to pick this one until we have seen how Shakur handles himself at lightweight first.

Tunde Ajayi (Trainer)

It’s a very intriguing fight to say the least. You only have to look at their spar on YouTube, when Devin was younger and Shakur was getting ready to go to the Olympics, to see how close it would be. It was a 50/50 spar back then and it would be a 50/50 fight today.

Jake Limond (Super-lightweight prospect)

I think it would be a good technical fight but I don’t see much action in the sense of knockdowns. Both of them are very good but I think Haney would get the win via decision.
