ONIC Esports wins ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 SEA

ONIC Esports have once again demonstrated that they are the undisputed champions of SEA.

The current Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) title holders clinched their second international championship this year by defeating Bigetron Alpha with a clean sweep, 4-0, in the grand final of ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 SEA Challenge Finals which took place on Sunday, July 23, at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In addition to the prestigious trophy, the double MPL Indonesia victors also walked away with the top cash prize of US$65,000.

Despite not being the highest seed from the group stage, ONIC managed to maintain an impressive record, without losing a single series in the playoffs.

ONIC Esports sailed smoothly into the Challenge Finals championship series by posting victories against Yoodo Red Giants, RSG Slate Philippines, and AP Bren in the upper bracket.

Bigetron Alpha kept their word and knocked out the Filipino teams to set up a grand final face-off featuring only Indonesian teams, by defeating RSG Slate PH, ECHO, and AP Bren in the lower bracket.

Even though Bigetron had a great run leading up to the final series, ONIC broke their winning streak in the first game. Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol‘s Hayabusa and Calvin “CW” Winata’s Wanwan teamed up for a perfect 8/0/8 KDA, steering their team to a resounding 10-2 victory in 13 minutes.

ONIC reigned supreme in the second game as well. Muhammad “Butsss” Sanubari’s Uranus acted as their shield, affording Kairi’s Joy and CW’s Beatrix the opportunity to unleash their firepower. They emerged victorious with a 16-3 win in 16 minutes.

In the third game, Bigetron gave a tougher competition with Dicky “Saken” Cahyana’s Clint. Nonetheless, at the 20-minute mark, MSC 2023 Finals MVP Nicky “Kiboy” Fernando’s Chou effected a game-changing pickoff on Saken inside Bigetron’s base, providing ONIC with a 3-0 series edge.

ONIC Esports concluded their unbeaten run with an assertive 12-4 victory in merely 12 minutes in the fourth game. Gilang “S A N Z”‘s Pharsa and CW’s Claude led their aggressive assault, accumulating a combined 6/0/15 KDA.

The Yellow Hedgehogs will strive to maintain their winning momentum with MPL ID Season 12 resuming on July 27.
