WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL)— Midwestern State University was the venue for its annual E-sports Hyberbeam gaming event/tournament on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

The MSU Texas E-Sports and Gaming is conducting a two-day fundraiser, with proceeds directed towards athletes’ scholarships. The event is under the patronage of FallsCon, also involved in fundraising for providing players with scholarships. Although FallsCon focuses on promoting gaming in the Texoma community and highlighting local talent, the convention welcomed players from cities including Houston, Austin, and the DFW area.

The tournament saw various vendors selling anime merchandise, a favorite among gamers, along with a segment dedicated to cosplay where attendees could dress up as anime characters. The MSU anime club, a popular choice among gamers, also sponsored the event.

In addition to the activities, the convention offered attendees complimentary breakfast from McDonald’s. Falls Con stated its plans for organising more events for the gamer community throughout the academic year.
