MNM Gaming and Wolves Esports have qualified for the R6 Central Combine following yesterday’s results at the tournament’s exclusive qualifier for Europe League teams.

After victories against Team Secret, MNM Gaming, and Virtus.pro, the Frenchmen secured the first spot by winning the upper bracket final. Meanwhile, the British-majority roster obtained the second place after defeating Heroic, Team BDS, WYLDE, and Virtus.pro.

Both Europe League teams will be eventually joined by six rosters coming from the Conference Clash, as the final phase of the competition is expected to be played in Cologne, Germany.

Here’s a brief look at what happened in the Europe League qualifier:

Virtus.pro miss out following two bracket final defeats

The Russian squad made its international return in Rainbow Six Siege with a Top 11 finish at the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen. Despite winning their first two matches against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Wolves Esports, the former Team Empire core lost their final three games — meaning they would miss out on the playoffs.

Almost two months later, a similar situation has happened. Following their first two victories against TT9 Esports and WYLDE, the roster lost twice by 2-7, as they were beaten by Wolves Esports in the Upper Bracket Final and by MNM Gaming in the Lower Bracket Final.

Former KOI members nudl and leadr played for Secret

About a month ago, Team Secret announced the departures of Reece “ASTRO” Lambert, Joe “YZN” Pardoe, and Alex “SlebbeN” Nordlund. However, the organization has yet to officially announce the team’s replacements.

Team Secret’s appearance at the R6 Central Combine meant we would see the roster’s former sixth player Harvey “Eupor” Hawkins in action for the first time.

Meanwhile, the team was completed with the two current KOI players of Adam “nudl” Hryceniak and Jake “leadr” Fortunato. Unfortunately, Team Secret couldn’t qualify for R6 Central Combine following defeats to Wolves Esports and WYLDE.

Team BDS leaves qualifier empty handed

While Wolves Esports secured French representation in the final phase of R6 Central Combine, the Six Jönköping Major champions failed to do so.

This result comes two months after missing out on the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen, as they failed to make it to the Europe League Deciders. Eventually, the Frenchmen finished in third place of the Last Chance Qualifiers.

Unfortunately, Team BDS couldn’t redeem themselves this time as an early 2-7 loss against WYLDE was followed by a 7-1 victory against TT9 Esports and a second and final defeat in the hands of MNM Gaming.

TT9 Esports fail to make an impression despite roster changes

TT9 Esports decided to compete in the R6 Central Combine with the former TENSTAR player of Callum “Azzr” Hatchinson and the former Team Secret player ASTRO.

Despite the exciting changes, TT9 Esports couldn’t win any of the team’s matches. First, the Europe League roster lost on overtime against Virtus.pro, a defeat that was followed by a 1-7 loss against Team BDS.

Just like TT9 Esports, Heroic were winless after defeats against MNM Gaming and Team Secret. However, something may be in the works for Heroic’s Stage 2, as revealed by the team’s coach Murat “Mrofficer88” Motevalli.
