Earlier this month, Pune-based game studio, SuperGaming had announced the first-ever esports tournament for Indus Battle Royale. The Indus Esports Invitational took place on October 28 (Saturday) with a total of ten teams which included six invited teams. The tournament came to an end with Reckoning Esports emerging as the champions of the Indus Esports Invitational.

The tournament was announced in a press release after the Indus Battle Royale received 7 million pre-registrations on Google Play Store. The Indian squad not only became the first lineup to be proclaimed victors of the first Indus Royale playtest competition, but they also paved the way for a new future for the battle royale title.

Indus Esports Invitational was also the fifth community playtest. The tournament featured professional players, content creators, community members, and former playtest champions. Here are the six invited teams to the Indus Esports Invitational:

  • Orangutan

The above teams along with other teams have competed in the tournament which had a Best of five rounds in Virlok. SuperGaming SG showed its uttermost commitment by organizing the playtest event and inviting numerous additional teams to the stage, all of which provided outstanding performances for gamers. Indus Battle Royale, as the newest game on the market, has big shoes to fill in.

The competition featured a fantastic showcase as the developers added the Virlok map. Gamers also saw their favourite pros play with the better control and balanced gameplay promised by creators since the title’s debut a few months ago.

Reckoning Esports, along with five other lineups, participated in the competition. Reckoning, on the other hand, performed admirably and was named Playtest Tournament Champions on October 29, 2023. After winning the event, the team expressed gratitude to the developers on their official Instagram and Twitter/X accounts for the invitation and their enthusiasm in participating in the playtest invitational. Reckoning Esports took home Rs 5 lakhs prize reward.

The runner-ups will receive Rs 2.5 lakh while the third-placed and fourth-placed teams will get Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively. The MVP also has a prize reward of Rs 1 Lakh.

We did not know anything about the runnerups details, and prize distribution details as the developers have disclosed nothing to the community. We will update this article once we get to know more information about the event.

SuperGaming has officially announced a closed beta for the Indus Battle Royale game in August. More information on watching the tournament can be found on the official Indus Discord Server.
