EA Sports FC Online’s New Game Format for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou (Previously known as FIFA Online 4)
At the Hangzhou Asian Games, the competition will involve 36 players in a revised double-elimination tournament.
The tournament format necessitates each player to lose twice before being disqualified, except in two scenarios. Firstly, in the qualification round, the bottom eight seeded players compete against each other in a single match; the four losers are immediately eliminated. Secondly, in the final match, regardless of their performance throughout the tournament, the player who loses will receive a silver medal.
Therefore, should a player lose a game in the main draw starting from the round of 32 leading to the winners’ final, they drop down to a supplementary losers’ bracket. Losing another game in the losers’ bracket will result in elimination. However, through continuous victories in the losers’ bracket, the player can reach the bracket’s final.
The loser of the losers’ bracket final will be awarded the bronze medal. The winner will progress to the final match for the gold medal against the champion of the winners’ bracket. The two finalists will compete for the gold and silver medals.
All matches will follow a best-of-three format.
Breakdown of the losers’ bracket round format:
