Following the VALORANT India Invitational held last year, Convergence 2023 has become the second global event to be held in India.
INDIA – The preliminary details of the anticipated international VALORANT event, known as Convergence 2023, have been released by Riot Games. This event, arranged in cooperation with The Esports Club and Riot Games SA’s Off//Season division, will take place at the Manpho Convention Centre in Bengaluru, India, and will run from December 14 to 17. The Convergence 2023 event’s prize pool hasn’t been unveiled yet.
Global Esports, Gen.G, FURIA Esports, Team Vitality, and FUT Esports are among the invited teams, representing the three major VALORANT regions. Another team expected to be announced shortly will round out the competitors’ list.
Last year’s VALORANT India Invitational was the first international tournament in India, and Convergence becomes the second. Notable participants in the previous US$100,000 contest included Team Heretics, Paper Rex, Team Secret, and Rex Regum Qeon.

Sukamal Pegu, the Esports Lead for India & South Asia at Riot Games, shared his thoughts on ‘Convergence’:
“Convergence is our way of showing gratitude to our incredible fans in India, who have been supporting us since VALORANT launched in 2020. Since then, our Indian team has grown, enabling us to deliver such local experiences. At Convergence, fans will finally be able to see their favorite VALORANT athletes in action and connect with them directly. This is an ideal conclusion to the 2023 VCT season and the start of many more such international events in India.”
Vamsi Krishna, Founder and Managing Director of The Esports Club (TEC), expressed his enthusiasm about being given the opportunity to organize the event:
“Partnering with Riot Games to launch their inaugural international VALORANT tournament in India is exciting. Not only will this strengthen the esports scene in the country, but it will also enhance India’s visibility on the global gaming map.”
