Gladiators Esports disbands its BGMI roster

On December 25, 2023, Gladiators Esports announced the dissolution of their BGMI team. The Indian organisation had gained attention earlier in the year by securing victories in two consecutive major championships. With their performance in the past six months, they were considered one of the year’s best teams. This announcement was quite unexpected, especially considering team member Destro had recently announced their intention to continue as a team in the organisation.

Changes in BGMI lineups have been noted in several organisations following the end of BMPS 2023 on December 17. Team Soul and Blind Esports, two popular clubs, have also recently bid their players farewell. Many teams are adjusting their lineups to prepare for the upcoming 2024 season.

Gladiators Esports parts ways with its full BGMI team

The following players have left Gladiators Esports:

  1. DeltaPG – Parth Garg
  2. Destro – Ammar Khan
  3. Justin – Justin nadar
  4. SHOGUN – Pawan Kumar

The organization’s farewell message read:

“Letting go is always difficult, particularly today. With a heavy heart, we bid adieu to the greatest BGMI team ever. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

The organisation also declared that they were ceasing their operations in this sector and stated:

“This signifies the conclusion of our journey as ‘Gladiators eSports’. Over the last seven months, we accomplished much together, but all good things must come to an end, including our time together. We are grateful to everyone who believed in us during this journey. Until our paths cross again, Gladiators Esports is signing off.

They proceeded to provide a brief overview of the club’s success:

“The organization entered the Battlegrounds Mobile India scene by signing former Chemin Esports players in June 2023. The company managed to win roughly $276k in prize money within six months. The standout team achieved top placements in various major tournaments, including two official ones.”

The team from Gladiators Esports performed well from the outset, claiming second place in the Upthrust Survival Saga Season 2 and the Upthrust Challengers Showdown. The roster, led by Destro, won their first significant championship, the Nodwin BGMI Champions Cup, in July. They also triumphed in the India Today League Invitational.

Gladiators Esports performed remarkably in the BGMI Masters Series Season 2, widely considered the game’s primary tournament. Justin from their team was named the event’s MVP. They dominated the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, winning their first official title and second major tournament.

Gladiators Esports struggled in the India vs Korea International and the Skyesports Championship 5.0, where they finished seventh in both competitions, and later secured fourth place in the Red Bull M.E.O. Season 6. The star-packed lineup bounced back in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023, where they were the second-best team in this official event.
