Germany vs Ukraine Prediction: International Friendlies Match

Germany’s preparations for their home EUROs will continue in June with international friendlies against Poland and Colombia. However, first they will host Ukraine at Westerstadion on Monday evening.

International Friendly Preview

On Monday evening, Germany will continue to prepare for the European Championships by playing Ukraine. There are certainly issues that the hosts must iron out before the major tournament starts next year.

The German national team exited the World Cup in Qatar in embarrassing fashion, and have since competed in two international fixtures. The first saw them register a straightforward 2-0 win over Peru, but then they were beaten by Belgium in late March with the visitors claiming a 3-2 win.

Ukraine are also hoping to qualify for the EUROs next summer, but they face a challenge after being drawn in the same qualification group as England and Italy. Ukraine were beaten 2-0 at Wembley by England in their last international fixture.

Ukraine have only won once in their last four international fixtures, with two draws coming from home fixtures against Ireland and Scotland.

Germany vs Ukraine Head to Head

Ukraine has never beaten Germany in an international fixture. The nations have played each other eight times, with Germany recording five wins and three draws. Germany has won the last three encounters, including a 3-1 win in November 2020. The most recent match where Ukraine avoided defeat was a 3-3 draw in November 2011.

Germany vs Ukraine Prediction

Germany will face increasing pressure as the start of the EUROs approaches. This match against Ukraine should help them get back on track after their recent defeat against Belgium, and we predict a comfortable 2-0 win for Germany.
