The title pendulum has swung in Man City’s favour with seven games left to play. Pep Guardiola’s side could move to the top of the standings this weekend if they are able to claim maximum points against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Premier League Preview
It is very much advantage Man City in the race for the Premier League title, as the reigning champions closed the gap on Arsenal to two points on Wednesday evening. City also has the added advantage of having two games in hand over their rivals. But, they could move to the top of the standings for the first time since February on Sunday, as they could move one clear of Arsenal with one game left in hand.
City’s form has been electric in recent months, as they have won each of their previous six matches. There appeared to be a gulf in class between themselves and the Gunners in midweek, as the champions secured a straightforward 4-1 victory at the Etihad. Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring, before further goals from John Stones, De Bruyne and Erling Haaland wrapped up the success.
Fulham will be happy enough with their season to this point, as they are already safe from the threat of relegation this term. They come into this fixture sitting tenth in the standings, and they have won two of their last three. Fulham could move back up to ninth in the standings this weekend if they are able to record a shock win.
However, they will need to bounce back from a poor display on the road against Aston Villa in midweek. Fulham were easily beaten by Unai Emery’s side, and they failed to register a single shot on target in the 90 minutes.
Fulham vs Man City Head to Head
Man City holds an excellent record in this fixture, as they have picked up victories in each of their previous ten Premier League matches against Fulham. The Cottagers haven’t recorded maximum points against City since an away win in April 2009.
Fulham vs Man City Prediction
This should be a straightforward task for City given their excellent recent run of form. We struggle to see anything other than a comfortable win for the away side this weekend, and we could also see Erling Haaland netting his 50th goal of the campaign.
