Frank Warren closing in on DAZN deal and Eddie Hearn link-up

BRITISH promoter Frank Warren is reportedly on the brink of joining DAZN in a groundbreaking broadcasting agreement that would align him with Eddie Hearn. The Times revealed this news in light of Warren’s current deal with TNT Sports ending in 2025.

This move is expected to facilitate smoother operations between the two promoters and make it easier to agree on major fights. One such highly anticipated fight is Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury. Before that can happen, Joshua needs to defeat Daniel Dubois on September 21 at Wembley Stadium. Dubois is under Warren’s promotion.

The collaboration between Frank and Eddie has been made possible by the financial backing and interest in boxing shown by Saudi powerhouse Turki Alalshikh, who has helped mend broken relationships. Having both promoters on the same platform increases the likelihood of future exciting matchups.

Despite Matchroom and Golden Boy already being part of the DAZN family, cross-promotional fights have been infrequent. However, being on the same platform should make a significant difference with this proposed partnership.

The potential move could leave TNT without a promoter if they continue to showcase boxing. Ben Shalom’s Boxxer, currently Sky Sports’ in-house promoter, is closely monitoring the developments.

DAZN’s journey has been filled with twists since entering the sporting market in 2016. A union between Matchroom and Queensberry would establish a dominant force in the world of boxing. At present, neither party has officially commented on the reports.
