The official unveiling of the National Esports Performance Campus is being organised by British Esports, offering a unique opportunity for interested individuals to learn more about the leading Esports courses offered at Sunderland College.
The event is scheduled to take place at ‘The Place’, located in the central area of Sunderland, on Thursday 28 November (4.30-6.30pm). It is going to be a perfect opportunity for school leavers to interact with representatives from the college and British Esports, gain insights into various available courses, and explore the high-tech venue. The venue features Esports, education, performance and coaching facilities that include three dedicated Esports classrooms, advanced production and broadcast facilities and the most modern gaming PC’s and technology.
Beyond a tour of the facility, Kalam Neale, Head of Education at British Esports, will make a presentation, there will be a taster session, and participants will gain an understanding of the various career opportunities within the Esports industry.
Sunderland College’s Creative, Digital and Computing Faculty Director, Sheree Rymer, stated:
“We’ve observed first-hand the significant impact that industry exposure is having on our students, enhancing vocational learning and forging connections between education and industry, all taking place at the National Esports Performance Campus, the hub of British Esports.
“The upcoming event, the first at this new facility, will provide students an amazing chance to explore the campus, experience Esports, and get valuable information to make informed decisions about their education and future career pathways.
“It fills me with pride to witness staff and students thriving and growing thanks to having access to this resource in our city, and we’re extremely excited about future students benefiting from these advanced facilities when they choose Sunderland College.”
In September 2023, Sunderland College’s Esports programme, formerly delivered at its Bede Campus, relocated to ‘The Place’, a high-tech centre for Esports, education and innovation, encouraging the talents of young learners to bloom.
A range of networking events organised by British Esports and their official partners provide students studying at the campus an enviable networking scope. They get to interact with some of the UK’s most promising Esports talent and industry leaders throughout their course.
The National Esports Performance Campus will significantly boost Sunderland’s and North East’s reputation as a premier digital hub, promoting local employment and economic growth. You can secure your spot at the launch event here
