Esports: Playoff Results and Schedule

AURORA – The initial two rounds of the 2023 Fall Esports State Championships by the Colorado High School Activities Association have concluded. The final rounds will take place on Monday with live Brodcasts on PlayVs, showing updates for League of Legends and Rocket League, and streamed on Twitch for the championship rounds.

The League of Legends teams will participate in their semifinal and championship rounds on Monday, starting at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m respectively. The Rocket League teams will play their quarterfinal, semi final, and championship round on Monday, commencing from 10 a.m. for the quarterfinals, noon for the semifinals, and 2 p.m. for the championships.

As the playoffs progress, it is advised to ensure the authenticity of live stream links before accessing them or providing any personal information in a bid to avoid phishing scams. The official CHSAA Twitch stream will be the sole official broadcaster of the matches.

Rocket League First & Second Round Results

No. 1 Chaparral Crossbar Club (Chaparral) is set to meet No. 8 Cherokee Trail Varsity (Cherokee Trail) in the quarterfinal clash. The Chaparral Crossbar Club cleared the first rounds against No. 32 Wray Eagles RL (Wray) and No. 17 The Fine Lads (Highland), while Cherokee Trail Varsity pushed through their first series with No. 25 Fossil Ridge Varsity Rocket League (Fossil Ridge) and then swept past No. 9 McClave Rocket League (McClave).

After facing the No. 29 Berthoud Spartans (Berthoud) and No. 20 RMHS Lobos Varsity (Rocky Mountain), No. 4 Valor RL Alpha Team (Valor Christian) has managed to progress to the quarterfinal round without losing a single match. Their opposing team will be No. 12 GMHS RL (Green Mountain), who join the quarterfinals after beating No. 5 Schleeb (Dakota Ridge), as well as their victory against VRHS Rocket League A (Vista Ridge).

In the other half of the bracket, No. 2 FCHS (Fort Collins) moved to the quarterfinals with wins against No. 31 RMHS Lobos JV (Rocky Mountain), and No. 15 Sabercats Varsity (Castle View). They will face No. 7 VPP Bison (Vista PEAK) in the quarterfinals, while VPP Bison triumphed over No. 26 Myth (Legend) and No. 10 Faking Falcons (Highlands Ranch).

The concluding Rocket League quarterfinal will be set between No. 6 Gold Bear Creek HS (Bear Creek) against No. 14 CHS RL Varsity (Centaurus). CHS RL Varsity won their first round match against No. 19 DCHS Huskies – Purple (Douglas County) and following pulls off the biggest upset of the competition by defeating No. 3 Warriors Rocket Varsity (Central). Gold Bear Creek HS progressed with wins against No. 27 Rocket Wolves – Blue (Grandview), and No. 11 Greeley West RL A.

League of Legends First Round & Quarterfinal Results

The top seed Creek Varsity LoL (Chery Creek) swept past No. 16 Chem Tank (Sterling) in the first round and came out victorious against No. 8 MRHS Mustangs (Mountain Range) in the quarterfinals. Creek Varsity LoL will face No. 4 VPP Stampede (Vista PEAK) in the semifinals.

VPP Stampede continued in the competition with a clean record, sweeping past No. 13 DIFFerential (Highland) and No. 5 CECP League Lions (Colorado Early Colleges Parker).

In the other semifinals, No. 2 Dies Irae (Highland) and No. 3 Cherokee Trail Varsity (Cherokee Trail) are set for a match, both maintaining untarnished postseason records. Dies Irae defeated No. 15 Fossil Ridge Lol (Fossil Ridge) and No. 7 AWEST arKiac (Arvada West) without conceding a round. Meanwhile, Cherokee Trail Varsity emerged victorious over No. 14 Ponderosa PricklyPentaPorcupinePeople (Ponderosa) and No. 6 CHS LoL Varsity (Centaurus).
