The EMEA Valorant Challengers Ascension 2023 extravaganza will be wrapping up later this week. This event marks the decider for the team that ascends to the EMEA Valorant Champions Tour League for the subsequent years 2024 and 2025. As the competition concludes on July 16, Tomek Borowka, the EMEA Challengers League product lead, has expressed his insights on the professional arena and its expected return in the upcoming season.
In remarks given to Gamereactor, Borowka conveyed, “From what we’ve observed, it has become clear that Challengers are a fundamental part of the VALORANT esports ecosystem, playing a crucial role in fostering new talent. We are still in the initial stages of our journey, but throughout this period, we’ve witnessed substantial growth and emergence of distinct identities in various regions. There have been diverse levels of viewer engagement and audience across the leagues. Given EMEA’s complexity and the distinct needs of each region, such variations are not unexpected.”
Borowka went on to note, “Among our continuous objectives is ensuring Challengers remains thrilling as a path to professionalism, maintaining high stakes throughout. Some learnings from this season will be highlighted when the next year commences. As we further mold it, the Challengers ecosystem will adapt to keep enhancing team experiences while bringing maximum thrill to fans.”
