CDL to remove entry fees, increase team revenue, and more

The Call of Duty League (CDL) has announced a series of modifications to its team agreements, thanks to their increasing development, geared towards nurturing more sustainable progress in the domain of competitive gaming.

According to Daniel Tsay, the General Manager of CDL, the league has achieved all-time highs in both event turnout and viewership in the last season, which he shared in a community update.

“We’re redoubling our investments on the business end to secure the success and longevity of competitive Call of Duty,” he expressed.

Removal of entry fees

All the entry fees for teams have been waived, and any charges previously gathered will be returned in full to the teams.

Rise in in-game merchandise revenue for teams

In an attempt to extend additional backing to the teams, they will now obtain a larger share of the profits from all in-game merchandise, encompassing team bundles and championship bundles.

Upgraded subsidy for physical, live events

The league will enhance its subsidy assistance for teams participating in live events like Majors, Opens, and Championships, relieving some of the costs related to these events.

Revenue assurance for two years

Teams will have the advantage of a two-year revenue assurance, establishing a secure financial backing while they partake in the league.

The above outlines the CDL’s dedication to nurture the growth of the competitive CoD scene and elevate financial aid for its teams, further establishing a model of shared success between the league’s management and competing teams.
