BN Preview: Both beaten only by Claressa Shields, Franchon Crews-Dezurn and Savannah Marshall clash at super-middleweight

SAVANNAH MARSHALL is making her return to the ring following her loss to Claressa Shields in October, where she also lost her undefeated record and world middleweight title.

However, Marshall is bouncing back with a fight for all four world championship belts at super-middleweight.

Her opponent, Franchon Crews-Dezurn, also suffered her only defeat at the hands of Shields. Crews-Dezurn has since had eight fights and eight wins, most recently defeating Elin Cederroos to claim the IBF and WBA titles.

Due to the cancellation of the rematch between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr, the headline slot has been given to Marshall and Crews-Dezurn’s defense of the four belts.

Marshall, despite moving up a weight class, is taller than Crews-Dezurn and will need to use her power effectively. Marshall has ended 10 of her 12 wins inside the distance.

Natasha Jonas, Marshall’s London 2012 team-mate, is also fighting on the card. Jonas is moving down to welterweight to face Canadian Kandi Wyatt for the vacant IBF title.

In another fight on the card, Ben Whittaker is taking on Vladimir Belujsky in the first eight-round fight of his career. Whittaker is looking to make a statement by achieving a stoppage victory.

There will also be a clash between Callum Simpson and Boris Crighton at super-middleweight. Simpson has an impressive record but will face a tough challenge from Crighton.
