At BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, Gaimin Gladiators was expected to be a strong contender for the podium. However, the path to this goal was considerably zinged after an unexpected defeat by BetBoom Team in the semifinals. The team, led by its star duo Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko and Danil “gpk” Skutin, displayed a stunning gameplay leading to one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.
The triumph not only secures a top-three spot for BetBoom in BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 but also guarantees them a minimum prize of $100,000. The team will now contest against Falcons in the upper bracket final.
In the semifinals, the teams faced off on the winner’s side. Gaimin had just surprised everyone by defeating Team Spirit in two straight matches whereas BetBoom managed to qualify for the playoffs with a 4-6 record in the group stage. Despite an unexpected victory over LGD in the first round, the odds against the Russian-Moldovan team seemed high.

Save- Stands out in BetBoom’s Win Over Gaimin Gladiators
The first game started off neck and neck, with no team leading by more than 2,000 gold or XP in the initial 15 minutes. A tussle towards the 16-minute mark was the turning point. BetBoom managed to take down GG’s heroes one after the other, with Nightfall and gpk posting impressive stats across 28 minutes.
In the second game, Gaimin actually had the upper hand in the game’s middle section. Regardless, BetBoom chose a cautious approach, grinding down GG while participating in only a few major fights. The show-stealing performance was from Vitalie “Save-” Melnic’s Lion.
Having defeated Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team is set to compete against Falcons for a spot in the grand finals. With six teams remaining and Team Spirit, Team Liquid, and Azure Ray in the lower bracket, BetBoom is set to advance one step closer to the trophy on Feb. 15, 3 pm CT on the official BetBoom Twitch channel.
