ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG), a global leader in gaming laptops, kick-started the 9th Season of ROG Academy in India on Monday.
As stated by ASUS, this esports education initiative has the aim of cultivating new gaming stars by offering access to high-end infrastructure, mentorship, as well as guest sessions with industry experts.
The selected participants for “CS2,” the designated title for the ninth season, will be privileged to receive a monthly allowance of ₹15,000, and the latest ROG gear including laptops, monitors, headphones, and keyboards, for the purpose of training.
Potential gamers who are 16 years old and above are welcome to apply through the official ROG Academy website from February 4. The selection process will involve application tests, theory examinations, range assessments, and scrims.
The partnership between ROG Academy and Saharyar “BaDMaN” Shaikh as the official coach for this season is ongoing. Holding a decade-long career as a CS:GO In-Game Leader (IGL), Shaikh’s contribution to competitive gaming is considerable, according to ASUS. Acknowledged for talent scouting and grooming, he has significantly shaped the careers of renowned players.
In addition to Shaikh, it is anticipated that the ROG Academy’s ninth season will also see experts from the industry invited to impart knowledge and advice to the competitors.
ASUS recounts that previous seasons of the ROG Academy have witnessed over 13,000 applications, with 48 players making the professional leap. Two distinguished Season 8 alumni, Seek and Arakyn, won placements at Grayfox Esports.
