Overwatch 2‘s latest addition to the team, Illari, is a solar-powered support hero who will be part of the lineup for season six. She possesses an awe-inspiring railgun that resembles more of a keyblade than a gun which has gamers eagerly awaiting to give her a try.
With her unique Peruvian healer abilities, including a healing turret and an ultimate ability that harnesses the power of the sun to create destructive results against foes, she is sure to be a game changer. However, you will have to unlock her in order to experiment with her special abilities. Let’s walk you through how you can begin practising with her.
Unlocking Illari in Overwatch 2
Beginning Aug. 10, Illari can be unlocked by purchasing the season six premium battle pass once the season officially starts. The premium battle pass is priced at 1,000 OW coins, equivalent to around $10. Securing it will grant you instant access to Illari.
For those pinching pennies or unwilling to pay, Illari can still be played. However, you’ll need to wait to unlock her, mirroring the unlock process of Lifeweaver at the 45th level of the free battle pass in season four. You’ll have to grind your way through the free battle pass levels.

If you devote a few hours a day to Overwatch 2, just like any dedicated gamer, reaching level 45 before Illari becomes available in competitive play two weeks after the season starts shouldn’t be a problem. But keep in mind, it limits your training time before she’s ready for competitive play.
Hence, we highly recommend gathering the funds necessary to purchase the premium battle pass. Not only does it provide earlier access to Illari but also a collection of Invasion-themed cosmetics that turn Overwatch heroes into Null Sector Omnics, including the frighteningly aesthetic Mythic Ana skin.
