There was chaos at the initial fight week event in Riyadh when John Fury, the father of Tyson, got into a physical altercation with a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team, resulting in him having a bloodied face.
Both Fury and Usyk were busy with interviews on Monday at the fight hotel in Saudi Arabia before their upcoming undisputed match at the Kingdom Arena on Saturday night.
The situation escalated when Fury Sr and a member of Usyk’s team clashed in the middle of a crowded room. In the heat of the moment, John Fury’s head unintentionally hit another member of the Ukrainian team, identified as Stanislav Stepchuk, resulting in a cut on the 59-year-old’s face.

Tyson Fury, the world heavyweight champion, was not present during the incident but later joked about his father’s injury. The room was soon filled with members of both teams and cameras as tensions rose between Team Fury and Team Usyk.
During a separate interview, Fury Jr expressed that the altercation did not faze him and he remained focused on his upcoming fight.
Later, John Fury explained the incident and expressed remorse for his actions in an interview with Boxing News.
“Emotions were high, and when men confront each other, clashes happen. It’s testosterone, and I’m full of it,” he said. “If there’s a fight, I’ll be the first there, ready to give it my all.”
