RONALD Ellis is heading to Johannesburg, South Africa, on 28th September to face the powerful Patrick Mukala as part of Seconds Out Promotions’ Genesis card. Ellis, determined not to be a measuring stick for others, possesses the skill and experience to pose a challenge to his opponent from Congo.
Also known as ‘Relentless’ in certain circles, the 34-year-old Ellis has shared the ring with the likes of David Benavidez, Christian Mbilli, and Erik Bazinyan. Despite currently being on a three-fight losing streak, Ellis has victories over Immanuwel Aleem, Christopher Brooker, and a victory over Matt Korobov due to injury.
The Genesis Re-Awakening event will showcase entertainment acts, adding to the celebration of African identity and excellence. The headline bout will feature Patrick ‘The Panther’ Mukala (15-2-1, 14 KOs), a knockout specialist looking to break into the top levels of the middleweight division, against the experienced Ronald ‘Akeem’ Ellis (18-4-2, 12 KOs), who recently joined Freddie Roach at the Wildcard Gym.
As per the promoters, “This fight promises to be an exciting clash of styles—power versus speed—embodying the spirit of Genesis.”
