Raiders vs. Chiefs live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Monday Night Football’ game

The Chiefs welcome the Raiders to Arrowhead Stadium for an AFC West battle on “Monday Night Football.”

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs took down Tom Brady and the Buccaneers last weekend to move to 3-1 on the season. It was a solid bounce-back win after dropping a stunner to the Colts in Week 3.

Andy Reid’s offense looked unstoppable for most of the game in Tampa. It will look to keep that going at home against a division rival.

Las Vegas finally got its first win of the season last week by defeating the Broncos.

Running back Josh Jacobs went for 175 total yards and two touchdowns, and the defense was able to keep Russell Wilson and Co. at bay down the stretch to secure the victory.

It was Josh McDaniels’ first win as a head coach since 2010, and it came against his former team. But with Vegas still at 1-3 after a poor start to the season, more wins need to start coming soon if the team is to have any hope of sneaking into the playoffs.

Will the Chiefs pile more misery onto their rival? Or will the Raiders pull off an upset at Arrowhead?

Raiders vs. Chiefs live updates, highlights from ‘Monday Night Football’ game

(All times Eastern)

Raiders 20, Chiefs 17

10:07 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — It’s Kelce again! He secures his second touchdown of the night on a quick pass near the goal line. Wright banks the extra point in off the side of the upright. That’s 10 straight points for the Chiefs on either side of halftime.

10:06 p.m. — Smith-Schuster gets involved with a catch inside the Vegas 5-yard line. That’ll set up 1st and goal for Kansas City.

10:04 p.m. — The Chiefs start with a few nice gains, moving the ball to near midfield. On 3rd and 8, Mahomes throws a strike to Valdes-Scantling for a big first down.

10:00 p.m. START OF SECOND HALF — The Chiefs will receive the ball first out of halftime.

9:55 p.m. — That brutal roughing the passer penalty comes just one day after a similar call for a tackle on Tom Brady went viral. Two bad calls in short succession for the same foul.

9:50 p.m. — Whew. That was a wild end to the half. All the discussion will be about that very questionable call to set up a Vegas field goal, but let’s not forget the Raiders played a great half and deserve to be on top right now.

End of first half: Raiders 20, Chiefs 10

9:47 p.m. FIELD GOAL — The kick is GOOD from 59 yards out. Wright redeems himself after an earlier miss. At least Chiefs fans have something to cheer as we head to halftime.

9:46 p.m. — Another completion to McKinnon moves KC to the far edge of potential field goal range. They’ll bring on Wright to try a long attempt to close out the half.

9:45 p.m. — The fans in Arrowhead are still raining boos on the officials even as their team begins another drive. Vegas gets penalized for a face mask to move the Chiefs close to midfield.

Raiders 20, Chiefs 7

9:42 p.m. FIELD GOAL — The Raiders can’t get any further after they were gifted that first down. They settle for a field goal try, which Carlson knocks through from 50 yards out.

9:40 p.m. — Still trying to make sense of that call. Kansas City’s Chris Jones landed on top of Carr, but otherwise it looked like a totally clean play. The Chiefs rightfully feel very hard done by.

9:37 p.m. — Wild sequence there. On 3rd and 8, Carr is pressured and sacked from behind, coughing up the ball in the process. The Chiefs recover and think they have a takeaway, but instead the officials call roughing the passer to give Vegas a first down. The fans in Arrowhead are absolutely livid — and for good reason. That was a bizarre call.

9:31 p.m. TWO-MINUTE WARNING — With two minutes left in the half, Las Vegas has the ball near midfield looking to extend the lead.

9:28 p.m. — Another nice Jacobs run picks up 9 yards to start the Raiders back up again, but a 2nd down holding call moves them backwards. On 3rd and 6, Carr zips it to Adams. He fumbles it out of bounds, but he had control of the ball before it came out and that’ll be enough for a first down.

Raiders 17, Chiefs 7

9:22 p.m.TOUCHDOWN — Edwards-Helaire thinks he scored, but he gets ruled down just short of the goal line after review. On the next play, Mahomes connects with his favorite target Travis Kelce for the Chiefs’ first score of the night. That was a crucial drive for KC.

9:20 p.m. — Mahomes threads the needle and finds Valdes-Scantling again to move inside the Raiders’ 10-yard line.

9:16 p.m. — The Chiefs face another quick 3rd and 10, but this time they convert on a pass to Valdes-Scantling. That was a desperately needed first down. Two plays later, McKinnon takes off for a tough 30-yard run. Kansas City is moving.

9:13 p.m. — Injury update: Raiders Darren Waller has been on the sideline for the last few Raiders possessions with an apparent hamstring injury. We’ll see if he makes it back on the field tonight.

Raiders 17, Chiefs 0

9:11 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Daniel Carlson is money from 53 yards out and the Raiders put more points on the board. Who saw this coming?

9:09 p.m. — After an incompletion, a short throw to Hunter Renfrow picks up just 2 yards and brings up 3rd and 8. Carr tosses it to Jacobs, who gets stopped a yard shy of a first down. The Raiders briefly keep their offense on the field, but they call timeout and will send in the kicker.

9:07 p.m. — Josh Jacobs continues to feast on the ground. He rips off runs of 13 and 21 yards to start the Raiders’ drive and move the ball across midfield.

9:05 p.m. — Kansas City is in desperate need of some points now. A run by Isaiah Pacheco to start the drive does nothing before a 2nd down toss to Travis Kelce pick up 6 yards. On 3rd and 4, Mahomes looks for Jerick McKinnon, but it hits the turf incomplete. That’s another three-and-out. Alarm bells might be starting to ring in Chiefs Kingdom.

Raiders 14, Chiefs 0

8:57 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Josh Jacobs powers his way in for a touchdown and the Raiders extend their lead. What a start for Las Vegas in a hostile road environment.

8:56 p.m. — The Raiders lose a chunk of yardage on 1st down, but another throw to Adams in the end zone draws yet another pass interference penalty. This time it was the rookie Jaylen Watson at fault. It’ll be 1st and goal from the 1-yard line.

8:55 p.m. — On the first play of the second quarter, Carr goes deep for Adams once again and it draws a defensive pass interference call. That’ll move the Raiders inside the red zone.

End of first quarter: Raiders 7, Chiefs 0

8:52 p.m. — Jacobs continues to be effective on the ground as he trundles for another first down. That’ll be the final play of the first quarter.

8:47 p.m. — The Raiders start the ensuing drive with a couple of handoffs to Josh Jacobs, who picks up 6 yards. Then, Carr finds Hunter Renfrow on 3rd down to *just barely* move the chains. They brought the marker out for a measurement and it was a matter of inches. Maybe even millimeters.

8:43 p.m. — The kick is NO GOOD. Wright sends it wide right from 41 yards out. He’s filling in tonight for the Chiefs due to Harrison Butker’s continued absence with a sprained ankle. Missed opportunity for KC.

8:42 p.m. — A pair of passes intended for JuJu Smith-Schuster both fall incomplete to bring up 3rd and 10. The Raiders send a heavy blitz and Mahomes is forced to toss it into the ground. That’ll set up a field goal try for Matthew Wright.

8:40 p.m. — After a pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling moves the chains again, Mahomes scrambles for a big pick up on 2nd down to move down to the Vegas 23-yard line. The Kansas City offense is starting to find its rhythm.

8:35 p.m. — Mahomes starts the drive with three straight completions to push forward to around midfield.

8:32 p.m. — After a dull first few minutes, that huge play came out of absolutely nowhere. The Raiders have the lead on the road and it’s now up to the Chiefs to respond.

Raiders 7, Chiefs 0

8:29 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — OH WOW. What a call by McDaniels! Carr heaves it deep down the field for Davante Adams, who has nothing but empty field ahead of him. He hauls it in and sprints into the end zone for an improbable 58-yard touchdown!

8:27 p.m. — Brandon Bolden makes the catch on 3rd down and fights for extra yards, but he is short of the line to gain. However, it looks like Josh McDaniels will be aggressive and try to go for this on 4th and 1 at his own 42-yard line.

8:25 p.m. — The Raiders have the ball back but Carr is immediately sacked for a big loss. A decent gain on 2nd down sets up 3rd and 3, but an illegal block penalty on the ensuing play pushes it back to 3rd and 13.

8:22 p.m. — Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense starts the night from their own 21-yard line. Clyde Edwards-Helaire picks up a couple yards on 1st down before an incompletion on 2nd. On 3rd and 8, Maxx Crosby breaks loose and wraps up Mahomes for an early sack. That’ll be a three-and-out.

8:19 p.m. — Las Vegas fails to covert on 3rd and 21. Here comes the punting team.

8:18 p.m. — The Raiders’ offense gets off to a shaky start after a chop block penalty backs them up on the second play from scrimmage. One play later, Carr goes deep down the right sideline for Mack Hollins and it hits the receiver in the chest but he can’t hang on. That could have been a big gain.

8:16 p.m. — Matthew Wright boots it for a touchback and we are underway.

8:14 p.m. — The Raiders will receive the ball first. The crowd at Arrowhead is electric as usual and kickoff is just moments away. It’s a beautiful night for football in the midwest.

8:10 p.m. — Patrick Mahomes takes the field in KC. He was stellar last week against the Bucs and he’ll be looking to keep that momentum rolling tonight.

7:48 p.m. — Derek Carr getting loose. He’s 6-3 in his career on “Monday Night Football” and the Raiders have won 5 of their last 6 Monday night games. Can they make it 6 of 7 tonight?

7:37 p.m. — Kansas City’s Justin Reid was out playing catch with the fans at Arrowhead ahead of kickoff.
