Panel: How do you see Saturday’s fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia playing out?

Michael Conlan (Featherweight contender)

It’s the fight with the first big-fight feeling in a long time, in my opinion. I’m looking forward to it. Before watching the All Access, I was thinking “Tank” does him in eight rounds. However, after watching it, I’m torn and unsure which way it will go.

Gary Logan (Former Southern Area welterweight champion)

Davis vs Garcia is the subject of much debate in the Boxing Booth Gym at the moment. It’s a tantalising fight. Can Garcia land his thunderous left hook and keep “Tank” off balance in order to do so? I think not. Davis is the full package. He is armed with the technical nous to dismantle Garcia and take him out around the eighth or ninth round.

Tunde Ajayi (Trainer)

I still won’t believe this fight is on until I see both guys walking to the ring. But, if it does go ahead, I predict a points win for Gervonta in a contest featuring rocky moments for both. It is a challenging and risky fight for them both at this stage of their careers and you have to credit them for taking it. This is what boxing should be about.

Declan Warrington (Journalist)

Davis will make another typically slow start, while he’s reading Garcia, and Garcia will therefore edge in front. At some point Davis will then start taking the fight to Garcia, but even if he finds it harder to do so than he ever has before, at some point there’ll be an exchange that might mean Garcia having to trade with him, and from that point he’ll break Garcia down and stop him.
