Luis Suarez agrees deal with Juventus

According to reports from Guillem Ballague, Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has decided to leave the club and join Juventus. Suarez is expected to leave Spain for Italy on a free transfer or a nominal fee if he can negotiate his exit with the Spanish club. His current contract expires in 2021, but it will be extended for another year if he plays 60% of games during the 2020-21 campaign.

Barcelona is no longer interested in Suarez, and they do not see him as part of their plans for next season. Reports suggest that the two parties will agree on his departure as their six-year collaboration is yet to expire. Suarez is one of the best 9s in football despite the drop in his goal-scoring tallies over the past few seasons.

Guillem Balague has said that Suarez will be happy to receive one season’s wage from Barca to leave the club and join the Italian giants. He also added that Suarez’s transfer will not affect Lionel Messi’s decision to leave Barcelona.

Luis Suarez will be remembered in Catalonia for his constant delivery during his tenure. He joined Barcelona from Liverpool six years ago for £74million, and in 283 appearances, he scored 198 goals combining with Messi and Neymar. He helped Barca to win the Champions League, Copa Del Rey, and La Liga titles in 2014-2015.

This season has been a nightmare for Suarez and Barcelona, culminating in their failure to win LaLiga and the Champions League. New Barca manager Ronald Koeman is prepared to ship many big names, including Suarez, who will move to Juventus and play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Chiellini and other big names.

Italian media reports suggest that Suarez will need to take an Italian citizenship test because of his Uruguayan passport, although his wife also holds an Italian citizenship passport. A transfer to Juventus would provide a sizeable upgrade for Juve and its steady supply of goals alongside Ronaldo for Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo.
