Sherrock secured the win with a thrilling deciding-leg victory over Beau Greaves, surviving two match darts in the final moments to claim her fourth consecutive win against the Doncaster player.

The trailblazer from Milton Keynes advanced to the quarter-finals with three whitewash victories against Denise Cassidy, Jane Robson, Deta Hedman, and Anca Zijlstra.

In the quarter-finals, Sherrock overcame Kim Holden before mounting an impressive comeback from 2-0 down to defeat Irish newcomer Katie Sheldon in the semi-finals.

Greaves also put on a strong performance and took home the £1,000 runner-up prize, showcasing a 101 average in her dominant first-round victory over Lainey Webb.

The current Women’s World Matchplay champion also defeated Lisa Ashton and Van Leuven, before coming back from a 4-2 deficit to edge out debutant Gemma Hayter in the semi-finals.

However, Van Leuven avenged her previous loss to Greaves on her way to winning Event Two, putting on impressive displays to claim her first PDC Women’s Series title.

Van Leuven breezed through to the last 16 without dropping a single leg, and she delivered an exceptional 11-dart leg to seal a 5-3 victory against Greaves in the quarter-finals.

The Dutch player then showcased a 101 average and hit six 180s to win a high-quality semi-final match against Sherrock, setting up a final showdown against Sheldon.

Van Leuven started strong with a remarkable 170 checkout, and despite some late struggles on the doubles, she sealed a 5-2 victory to enhance her chances of qualifying for the Betfred Women’s World Matchplay.
