Daniel Dubois, Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker are the “front-runners” to be Anthony Joshua’s next opponent

There is speculation that the next opponent for Anthony Joshua will be announced at a press conference on Tuesday, June 26. His promoter Eddie Hearn spoke to Boxing News at the Johnny Fisher-Alen Babic launch press conference and hinted that the next challenger for ‘AJ’ may come from a shortlist of three fighters.

“I’ve seen [Zhilei] Zhang on the list, [Joseph] Parker on the list, [Daniel] Dubois’ obviously on the list,” Hearn revealed.

“The goal for AJ is to regain the heavyweight title, so if there is an opportunity to fight for the IBF title, then Daniel Dubois would be a top choice for that bout.”

Dubois recently boosted his position with a victory over Filip Hrgovic, putting him in contention for a title shot. Hearn expressed confidence in Dubois, Zhang, and Parker as potential contenders for Joshua’s next fight.

“Daniel is evolving into a formidable fighter,” Hearn commented after Dubois’ impressive win at the Queensberry vs. Matchroom event.

Zhang has reemerged in the heavyweight division with a win over Deontay Wilder, while Parker, who has previously fought Joshua, has expressed interest in a rematch with the former champion.
