Canadian GP Qualifying: Max Verstappen on pole ahead of Fernando Alonso as Nico Hulkenberg gets grid penalty | F1 News

Max Verstappen will start on pole at the Canadian GP following a dramatic qualifying session in wet conditions. Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc were unable to make it to the top-10 shootout, while Nico Hulkenberg lost his second-place position due to a post-session grid penalty. Verstappen’s pole position puts him in a position to claim Red Bull’s 100th F1 win and match Ayrton Senna’s victory tally of 41. Fernando Alonso will join Verstappen on the front row, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell starting behind them.
