PHILADELPHIA — Allegany-Limestone senior Angelina Napoleon wrapped up her senior season this weekend at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Track And Field meet at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. To no surprise, the North Carolina State commit capped off her illustrious career with more records and a national championship.

Napoleon showed why she is the national record holder in the 2,000-meter steeplechase by adding a national championship. She set the meet record in the event with a time of 6:19.53, just ahead of Sheridan Wheeler at a time of 6:20.80.

Napoleon came up just short of another national championship, finishing in second in the 800 meters. She ran a personal-record time of 2:05.53, less than a second behind Sophia Gorriaran with a meet-record time of 2:04.59.

While Napoleon graduates to do big things at the collegiate level, Randolph junior Roan Kelly is just getting started putting his name out there at the national level.

Fresh off of a New York State and Federation Championship in the 1,600 meters last weekend, Kelly competed in the 1-mile race and the 1,500 meters over the weekend.

Kelly placed highest in the mile race, taking 22nd after posting a time of 4:14.10, just one-hundredth of a second off his personal best which was set in May. Winning the national championship was Devan Kipyego with a time of 4:04.78, two seconds clear of Connor Ackley in second place.

In the 1,500 meters, Kelly ran a personal-best time of 3:58.24 which landed him in 28th place. Once again, atop the podium was Kipyego racing to a time of 3:47.57.
