Badgers fall to Huskies in home opener Wisconsin News


The Wisconsin Badgers were defeated 5-1 by the St. Cloud State Huskies on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, the Huskies came out swinging in the second period. Grant Cruikshank opened the scoring with a goal for the Huskies, assisted by Micah Miller. Grant Ahcan would add a shorthanded goal to extend the St. Cloud State lead. One minute later the Huskies scored another goal to give them a 3-0 lead over the Badgers.

Mathieu De St. Phalle put the Badgers on the board with a third period goal to cut the lead before St. Cloud State added two late goals to put the Badgers away.

Jared Moe made 28 saves for the Badgers in the loss.

These two teams will face off on Saturday at 7 p.m. on Bally Sports Wisconsin.
