To the editor:
I am writing to encourage folks in New Ulm to vote for Kathleen Backer to become the next mayor of New Ulm.
Shortly after I moved to New Ulm just over 20 years ago I was selected as one of the 24 people in the community to attend the week long Blandin Community Leadership Workshop. It was there that I first met Kathleen Backer, who was also a participant in the program. I was impressed with her energy and creativity as the week progressed and as we were involved in a number of activities to help build our leadership skills.
New Ulm needs a mayor who will work hard to advance our community. Kathleen Backer will do that and she will bring her drive and those leadership skills to the office of mayor. She loves our city and will do everything she can to make it an even greater place to live.
Please consider a vote for Kathleen Backer as our next mayor, whether you vote early (as I did) or go to the polls on Election Day.
