Trinity Hospital was briefly placed on lockdown today after the victim of a domestic violence incident in Williston was brought to the Minot hospital for treatment, with the alleged perpetrator still on the loose.
Randy Schwan, vice president of mission integration for Trinity Health, said in the latter part of this morning that the facility had lifted the lockdown facility-wide but will still be on heightened alert in certain areas to protect the patient.
Williston police said the domestic violence incident happened at about 3:40 a.m. today in the 2400 block of 37th Place in Williston, and the Williston Police Department and Williams County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the incident. The suspect had not been arrested as of late this morning.
Trinity Health was advised to go on lockdown as a precaution by the Williston and Minot police departments after the purported victim was brought to Minot at about 7:45 a.m. for treatment, said Schwan. Schwan said this is standard procedure to protect patients and staff at hospital facilities.
