Volunteer meeting for Christmas Day feast planned for Sunday | News, Sports, Jobs

Volunteers interested in helping with the 9th annual Christmas Day feast in Marietta this year are invited to a planning meeting at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16, at DaVinci’s in Williamstown.

Last year, the feast teams provided over 700 meals on Christmas Day, and the need is expected to be larger this year.

The event is organized and made possible with local private donations, is ecumenical and supported by members from over a dozen local Christian churches. Opportunities to participate range from helping prepare meats and potatoes, making gravy, cutting pies, serving, doing dishes, bussing tables, clean-up, gathering donations and doing room set-up in advance and more.

Questions are always welcome, and experienced volunteers are always ready to answer. Come early or stay late if you would like to order a meal. Meeting will last approximately 60 minutes. For more information, please contact Bruce Edward Haas, project manager, at 740-629-1277, call or text.
