Skyesports starts SEA Championship VCT Off-season Events


Since the launch of Valorant franchising, there hasn’t been much noise made in most of the VCT regions. One region that has made sure that competition doesn’t die out is APAC.

South East Asia has been one of the core regions for the game, with massive amounts of fans taking part. Skyesports has just announced their next tournament that will be taking place soon. It will be the first phase of VCT Offseason for the SEA region, and officially hosted by Riot and Skyesports who previously hosted the APAC VCT matches.

Valorant Champions Tour Off Season

Skyesports tournaments will be the first major off-season events held in SEA. Various teams have been included, and there has been quite a buzz from the fans. The likes of Bleed Esports, Fancy United, Todak as well as South Built Esports will be a part of this tournament. With a prize pool of $30,000, there is a lot to win for the teams.

The fixtures for the tournament have already been announced with it starting from the 8th of November. These games will be the qualifiers for the playoffs taking place.

Meanwhile, “the main” organizations working to build up and finalize their rosters. There has been a slow build-up to the pre-season tournament taking place in Brazil. Sentinels, Fnatic and Global Esports are among the first to finalize their rosters. Most teams from the APAC region have confirmed their rosters as well.

Second tier teams across various regions have to find a way to stay afloat and prepare for the new season. The off-season tournaments will be held until February until the start of the VCT season and will be a good way to keep the scene active for both franchisee teams and amateur organizations.

SEA Championship Tournament Brackets

The tournament is set to first take place consisting of two groups of 5 teams each. Each of the tournaments in the group will face off two times in the group stages. The groups are as follows:

Group A

  • Bleed Esports
  • South Built Esports
  • Team NKT
  • Louvre
  • Oasis Gaming

Group B

  • MiTH
  • NAOS Esports
  • Fancy United Esports
  • Sharper Esport
  • Todak

Two games will be played per day, from both groups, and matches will be best-of-one. With the introduction of Habour into the game, there could be various new lineups to be expected. One must note that the top two teams will qualify for the upcoming playoff tournament.

 

Some of the favorites to look out for are: Bleed Esports, Fancy United Esports and Made in Thailand. Each of the teams is currently ranked in the top 15 teams in APAC.

The majority of fans are waiting to see the new roaster of Bleed play together in an official tournament. Currently, they sit on a win-loss record of 40/16, which in turn has placed them as the third-best team in the region. The team has been incredible in the previous BO3’s, and are coming off a winning streak of 6 games before this tournament.

The hype for the Skyesports SEA Championship has been building up since the announcement yesterday. Only time will tell who will win it all.
