Norma June Bargerhuff Cummings entered into her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022. June was born on September 1st, 1934, in Jane Lew, WV to George Roy and Lorena Katherine (Bartlett) Bargerhuff. She graduated from Weston High School in 1952 and then went on to Bowling Green State Business College in Bowling Green, Kentucky. June worked for Hope Natural Gas Company in Clarksburg, WV, where she met her husband Charles Cummings. They were married on August 26th, 1961 and he preceded her in death on February 19th, 2010. Her parents also preceded her in death, as well as a son in law, Victor Office. Living on to carry her legacy are her children Kim Hiatt (fiance Barry Mullen) of Marietta, OH, Alma Office of Maineville, OH, John Cummings (wife Cindy) of Hurricane, WV, and her sister Shirley (husband Larry) Myers of Chattanooga, TN and nephew Steve Myers also of Chattanooga, Also surviving are her grandchildren Lindsay Speraw (husband Brody) of Wellston, OH, Alan Cummings (wife Karen) of Winfield, WV, Philip Cummings (wife Megan) of Statesville, NC, and April Office (fiance Tony) of Maineville, OH. She also leaves behind great grandchildren Brianna Garrett, Eli Cummings, Cason Cummings, Hailey Holleman, and soon to be born Emerson Speraw. June was active in many organizations in the Marietta community, including Washington County Heart Board, Betsey Mills Board, Betsey Mills Girls Council, Marietta Welfare League and Board and Women’s Home Board. She was past president of Rotary Anns and Hill and Dale Garden Club. She was also past Guardian of Job’s Daughters, Bethel 40. June was also a long standing member of the Sternwheel Festival committee and very active with the Women’s Golf Association at Marietta Country Club. She was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church, as her faith was very important to her. June never knew a stranger and had a warm, caring, and ornery spirit. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held Saturday October 8th at 11am at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta with Chaplain Willie Hood presiding. Visitation will be Friday October 7th, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel from 4-8pm. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Clarksburg, WV. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Elison Assisted Living and Memory Care as well as Amedisys Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to their “June Bug.” Donations in June’s name may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.
